Dinner in Downtown Asheville

Wood-Fired Dinner in Downtown Asheville

Ember & Vine sits on Biltmore Avenue, a few blocks south of Pack Square, in the heart of downtown Asheville's dining stretch. Our nightly menu is cooked almost entirely over live oak and applewood, and it leans hard on the farms that ring the city, Sandy Mush, Hominy Valley, and the river bottoms east of town.

A few steps from the galleries and the Orange Peel

We are an easy walk from the South Slope breweries, the downtown galleries, and the Orange Peel, which makes us a natural first or last stop on a night out. Street parking turns over after six, and the Aston Street and Rankin Avenue garages are both a short walk away. Tell us if you have a show to catch and we will time your courses around it.

Mountain ingredients, cooked over fire

Downtown Asheville eats local, and we take that seriously. The trout is from Sunburst up the Pigeon River, the beef is dry-aged in-house, and the vegetables change with whatever is coming off the farms that week. Everything that can meet the hearth does, which is why the dining room always smells faintly of woodsmoke and char.

Downtown Asheville . FAQ

Common questions.

Do you take reservations for dinner downtown?

Yes. We strongly recommend reserving for Friday and Saturday, when the downtown dinner rush fills the room early. Weeknights are easier, and the bar always holds first-come seating with the full menu.

Is there parking near the restaurant?

Metered street parking on Biltmore Avenue turns over after 6pm, and the Aston Street and Rankin Avenue garages are both a short walk. We are also a quick rideshare from anywhere downtown.

Can we eat before a show at the Orange Peel?

Absolutely. Let us know your show time when you book and we will pace your meal so you are out the door with time to spare.
